SEC Accuses Ripple of Harassment Over Court Documents
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) accuses ripple of harassment stating that they have asked for more documents than legally necessary.
The court had allowed Ripple to have access to certain documents from the SEC.
The order from the court required the SEC to look for emails for information. They were asked to search for 19 custodians and three cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, and XRP) information.
Currently, the SEC is blocking Ripple to have access to certain documents by accusing them of seeking information more than necessary.
Ripple has asked the SEC to search data in their employees' personal devices related to the case. SEC also stated that Ripple has asked them to include data on a 20th custodian which is not included in the original decision.
SEC has concluded that Ripple is “seeking to ignore the limitations of [the court order] and to mire the SEC in indefinite discovery disputes and … document review.”
It would be interesting to see if the court considers SEC allegations or will side with Ripple once again.
