Cross River Bank Partners with Ripple to Integrate RLUSD Stablecoin into Banking System
Cross River Bank has announced a strategic partnership with Ripple to incorporate the RLUSD stablecoin into its banking framework. This collaboration aims to simplify financial transactions for businesses, allowing them to utilize Ripple's dollar-backed stablecoin without the need to manage their own blockchain technology.
Through this integration, fintech companies can seamlessly handle various payment types—including traditional bank transfers, ACH payments, wire transfers, and RLUSD transactions—via a single connection. This development is expected to enhance the efficiency of international payments, providing around-the-clock access to these services.
Adam Goller, the head of fintech banking at Cross River, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating that it will enable businesses to easily transition between U.S. dollars and RLUSD. He noted, “Our partnership with Ripple eliminates the complexity of relying on multiple providers for global money movement.”
While the integration brings blockchain payments closer to mainstream banking, it is important to note that the new RLUSD services are currently limited to select U.S. states. Despite this limitation, the partnership represents a significant step towards bridging the gap between cryptocurrency and traditional finance.
Markus Infanger, senior vice president of RippleX, highlighted that Cross River is pioneering the integration of RLUSD and the XRP Ledger into its regulated banking platform, providing a fast and cost-effective settlement solution for businesses.
