Crypto Map Show Countries Where Bitcoin Is More Often Search
Blockchaincenter.net is an innovative and interactive platform where users can view the regions where Bitcoin is the most searched cryptocurrency.
The report is gathered by using the Google Trends database and users can find out which countries favor Bitcoin the most and where it is that altcoins rule the roost.
Blockchaincenter.net maps published Google Trends data reveal that Bitcoin (BTC) dominates search interest in Africa. In Kenya, 94.7% of all searches related to cryptocurrencies—including BTC, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Cardano (ADA), Dogecoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH), IOTA, Litecoin (LTC), Monero (XMR), XRP, and Tron (TRX) are for bitcoin whereas Nigeria and South Africa had high percentages of 89.4% and 89%.
These search shows that countries in Africa can become key crypto players in the future. The speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives called for a substantive legal framework for cryptocurrencies in July 2019.
With 13% ownership, South Africa becomes the highest among internet users in the region. Recently in April, the financial regulator of the country issued a policy document stating that crypto-assets and activities relating to virtual currencies “can no longer remain outside of the regulatory perimeter.”
In the top ten most ‘Bitcoin maximalist’ list, South America has four countries while Africa has three. The highest search interest is found in Brazil for BTC at 92.6% and 89% for both Chile and Ecuador. Argentina comes in last in the list with 87.7% of search interest.
The coronavirus pandemic can be the reason we see the increasing demand for crypto in these countries. Back in April countries such as Argentina, Chile and Venezuela show BTC peer-to-peer trading volume reached all-time highs.
