These Two European Countries Have Become Top Spots For Crypto Mining
The European countries, Norway and Sweden have bagged the top position for cryptocurrency mining. These countries have long and wet weather – some of the wettest of the past 20 years. The regions have received ample rainwater to ensure they possess strong, hydroelectric power, which remains some of the cheapest in the world. This has resulted in crypto miners picking up these locations to set up operations.
Most of the world’s bitcoins are mined in areas such as Canada, China, and Kazakhstan. However, these three nations charge high prices for energy and the mining costs of bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies goes high. In contrast, Norway and Sweden are providing new miners with alternatives and money-saving routes to help them garner all the new coins they’ll need to keep their businesses up and active.
The head of operations at Hong Kong-based Genesis Mining Ltd. Philip Salter stated that in the past three years miners had faced many problems all over the world. The cost to mine new currency units was too high in 2018 and 2019. But today as the price of the bitcoin has increased many miners are doing quite well.
The biggest energy market in Europe is Germany but Sweden and Norway are averaging prices roughly one-third of those in old Bavaria. These regions receive constant rain and it has boosted the production of hydro reservoirs.
Norway has even beat Iceland which was a perfect spot for crypto miners.
