Survey Shows 20 Percent Of Australians Own Crypto
As per the survey conducted by the Australian crypto exchange Independent Reserve, 20% of young adults in Australia own cryptocurrency and 90% have at least heard of one cryptocurrency. Also, one out of five surveyed people said that they have crypto.
According to the Independent Reserve Cryptocurrency Index (IRCI), the survey places the 2020 crypto index at 47. Last year the report published index 42 while it has increased by 10 percent this year.
The survey had 1,100 participants from different age groups. When questioned about holding a cryptocurrency, the age group of 25 to 44 agreed on holding one crypto or another.
Positive expectations are seen among young adults in Australia towards bitcoin for the coming years. Nearly 40 percent of participants in the age of 25 to 34 relayed optimism about increasing crypto adoption in the future.
As per Independent Reserve Cryptocurrency Index findings, bitcoin is the most popular virtual currency in Australia where 88% of participants stated that they were aware of the largest crypto by market capitalization.
Both men and women have equal awareness regarding bitcoin as per the report. However, while talking about altcoins, men are three times more aware of altcoins than women.
