Polygon Collaborates with Community Gaming to Enable Scalable Esports Tournaments
Polygon Network (MATIC) has entered a long-term partnership with Community Gaming, a "one-stop" platform for the esports infrastructure.
With this collaboration, the Community Gaming tournament organizers can deploy their esports events easily onto the Polygon network even "without any background knowledge of how wallets or smart contracts work."
The first two tournaments to use Polygon's blockchain were Gods Unchained tournament and an Axie Infinity tournament. Thousands of players compete each month for prize pools denominated in tokens like ETH, MATIC, and USDC.
Winning players receive their rewards through one transaction under 3 seconds with an average transaction fee of less than 0.0015 MATIC. The partnership will be rolled out with a $2,500 Skyweaver Tournament in mid-August featuring NFT-powered card games, and the tournament will be streamed on Twitch.
"By integrating with Community Gaming we continue to bridge the gap between decentralized technologies and the competitive gaming community with fast and cheap payments combined with secure and trustless on-chain transactions," Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal.
Polygon's popularity is booming due to its Ethereum scaling solutions. The protocol has kept up the momentum by partnering with the various developer and DeFi projects. This project recently made a notable partnership with Alchemy to improve the latter's network capabilities.
Furthermore, Chris Gonsalves, the CEO of Community Gaming, highlighted the benefits that event organizations could see from the partnership: "For event organizers on our platform, this integration means being able to easily create, run, and facilitate tournament payments with sub-penny transaction fees in any country."
This month, Community Gaming raised 2.3 million dollars from top-notch Venture Capitals like CoinFund, Animoca Brands, Dapper Labs and Multicoin Capital.
