Dozens of High Profile Twitter Accounts Face Bitcoin Giveaway Scam
Twitter faced a major crypto attack as high-profile accounts and companies start tweeting a bitcoin giveaway. Qickly crypto community observed the scam and alerted others not to send any bitcoin to the scammers.
The accounts which got hacked in bitcoin giveaway scam includes,
Barack Obama,
Joe Biden,
Elon Musk,
Benjamin Netanyahu,
Floyd Mayweather,
Kanye West,
Changpeng Zhao,
Charlie Lee,
Justin Sun,
Michael Bloomberg,
Jeff Bezos,
Warren Buffett,
Wiz Khalifa,
Bill Gates,
xxxtencion,
Kim Kardashian West,
MrBeast,
Binance,
Coinbase,
KuCoin,
Gemini,
Bitfinex,
Bitcoin,
Ripple,
CoinDesk,
Cash App,
Apple, and,
Uber.
Most of this account tweeted:
“We have partnered with Cryptoforhealth and are giving back 5000 BTC to the community,” followed by the URL of the scam website.
The URL consists of Cryptoforhealth.com which was quickly taken offline. Kristaps Ronka, CEO of Namesilo, the domain registrar used by the scammers, stated that the domain was suspended “on the first report” the company received.
Many accounts also tweeted,
“I have decided to give back to my community. All bitcoin sent to my address below will be sent back doubled. I am only doing a maximum of $50,000,000.

The common BTC address used by the scammers has gained 12.862 BTC with a total value of about $118,495.
After following the series of Tweets, the help center of the social media platform confirmed the hackers were able to hack high-profile accounts by conducting a “coordinated social engineering attack” to gain “access to internal systems and tools.”
Twitter support said, “We know they used this access to take control of many highly-visible (including verified) accounts and Tweet on their behalf. We’re looking into what other malicious activity they may have conducted or information they may have accessed and will share more here as we have it.”
