Crypto Community Launches Cryptocurrency Relief Fund For Beirut Explosion
Bitcoin Beirut funds are all set to help the victims of the explosion. The funds are termed as ‘Crypto Disaster Relief For Beirut Explosion. The explosion has caused damage to the country’s economy. The Lebanese finances were already weakened before the deadly explosion took place. The explosion has also harmed the banking system due to which people are having trouble while accessing their funds.
Bitcoiners came as a savior by launching the fund with the motive to help the victims. Crypto community is making sure that Lebanese citizens have access to money in such hard times. The relief funds are launched by Europe-based Lebanese ex-pats.
As per the Bitcoin Beirut fund campaign, the nation’s financial system is corrupt to the core. In their Instagram post, they have highlighted the use of cryptocurrency transactions to bypass the conventional banking system, which is plagued by corruption, inefficiency, and technical flaws.
The fund is giving control to the people through trusted over-the-counter traders providing much-needed liquidity to the citizenry. The non-profit organizations such as Baytna Baytak, are funded with the Bitcoin Beirut fund to help the people locate food, shelter, and safety.
A Palestinian professor, Saifedean Ammous is organizing the fundraising and with his efforts, he has managed to collect Bitcoins worth several hundreds of dollars. ‘Kilna Ya3ne Kilna’ is another organization that is using the Bitcoin crowdfunding model to disburse humanitarian aid.
