Coca Cola May Use Baseline Protocol & Ethereum Mainnet
The beverage company Coke One North America (CONA) will use Ethereum Baseline Protocol in a new project to manage supply chains across different bottling suppliers.
As per the report, CONA has established the project named “Coca-Cola Bottling Harbor,” which will use the Baseline Protocol. This protocol will make sure that transactions are private and stored on the Ethereum blockchain.
This project is the extended version of the previous Hyperledger-based platform used to handle inter-organizational supply chain management for bottling companies. In this new loop system, the company wants to use blockchain technology across a broader range of key market participants in the raw material supply and product distribution chain.
The main objective of CONA is to create a “Coca Cola Bottling Harbor” — a decentralized architecture that will lower the entry barrier for bottling suppliers. The project has set an example of blockchain’s increasing utilization in the supply chain management (SCM) arena, especially with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The first results of the project will be published in the last quarter of 2020. The new Baseline Protocol will minimize the barrier entry process for Coca-Cola bottling suppliers, which will also include raw material vendors.
