Americans Trust More On Bitcoin Than Libra
The recent study by CivicScience shows that the majority of Americans trust Bitcoin more than Facebook’s Libra. 86% of respondents told that they aren’t interested in Libra. It will be a tricky thing for Facebook to win over the public.
Facebook has been facing challenges and battles against the regulators in the United States since its Libra project announcement. It shows that the US government is unanimously against Libra but the general public opinion is whether positive or negative that is the question.
CivicScience is a polling company that provides real-time consumer insights has come up with the article that shares the interest and concerns of the public over Libra. The result showed that Facebook was up against a very tough crowd in the United States.
The survey result displayed only 5% out of 1,799 adults, shown any kind of interest in Libra. The people who expressed interest in Facebook’s Libra were mostly heavy Facebook users, between 18 and 24 years old. On the other side, 86% of respondents said that they weren’t interested in Libra at all and the rest 10% was not sure what to make of it.
According to the poll, more than half of people who said they aren’t interested in Libra either didn’t use or didn’t have Facebook.
The reason people showing least interest in Facebook as it was not able to protect their customers’ private data and now they trust more on Bitcoin. Survey of CivicScience states that 77% of people don’t trust Facebook “at all,” and the remaining 21% said that they trusted Facebook only “a little.”
Rather than keeping trust on Facebook’s Libra, Americans said that they would keep trust in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. There were 1,770 respondents from which 35% said that they trust more on Bitcoin than Libra and according to 5% LIbra was only “somewhat less” secure than the world’s largest cryptocurrency.
More research will be carried out by CivicScience to know why people felt the way they expressed in the survey.
