Amazon Web Services will now support Ethereum
Amazon- the technology giant proudly announced the general availability of Ethereum on its managed blockchain. As per the announcement, Amazon Web Services or AWS users can access Ethereum nodes in minutes and connect to the blockchain’s mainnet in addition to the Ropsten and Rinkeby testnets through its managed blockchain. This program will also offer secured access to the network via standard open-source Ethereum APIs and reliable sync to the Ethereum blockchain.
The firm also stated that Amazon Managed Blockchain tracks node health, replaces unhealthy nodes, and automates Ethereum software upgrades, thereby improving customers’ Ethereum infrastructure availability. In addition to DeFi applications, users building analytical products like smart contract monitoring tools and fraud detection software will benefit from this scalable, highly available, and fully managed Ethereum service.
Amazon first began providing blockchain-related services back in 2019 and provided customers with the ability to set up blockchain networks within their organizations and use the Ethereum and Hyperledger open-source frameworks. The service also claimed it could eliminate the need to arrange hardware, install software, manage certificates for access control, and configure network settings.
Initially, this service was available to the East Coast of the United States customers, but now customers can access Ethereum across the AWS regions in the Eastern U.S., Asia Pacific, and Europe. This announcement is made exactly one month after Jeff Bezos affirmed that he would be stepping down as Amazon CEO in the third quarter of 2021 and replaced by Andy Jassy- CEO of Amazon Web Services and oversaw its crypto product offerings.
