WisdomTree Partners with MoonPay to Enhance Access to Tokenized Treasury Fund
In a significant move for both traditional finance and the crypto space, WisdomTree has announced a partnership with MoonPay to integrate its tokenized Treasury money market fund, WTGXX, into MoonPay's expansive network of over 35 million accounts.
This collaboration aims to provide eligible U.S. investors with streamlined access to WTGXX, which is designed to maintain a stable value of $1 per share. However, investors should be aware that there are no guarantees, as the fund does not carry FDIC insurance.
MoonPay plans to leverage WTGXX as part of its stablecoin reserve management, creating a unique intersection between regulated investment products and digital asset infrastructure. This innovative approach allows for a more integrated financial ecosystem.
WisdomTree's founder and CEO, Jonathan Steinberg, emphasized the need for investment mechanisms to evolve alongside modern financial practices, stating, "Money moves differently today, and investing needs to keep pace." This partnership is expected to pave the way for additional tokenized fund opportunities globally.
As of now, WTGXX holds a total valuation of approximately $1.23 billion, with an estimated annual percentage yield of around 3.61%. The fund's tokens are issued on multiple blockchain networks, including Arbitrum, Solana, and Ethereum, with the majority of value currently residing on Ethereum.
This partnership marks just the beginning, as both firms anticipate expanding their collaboration to include more tokenized funds, further bridging the gap between traditional finance and the rapidly evolving crypto landscape.
