US Has Some Good News To Share With Crypto Industry
A high-ranking banking official in the United States government made a positive announcement regarding crypto regulations. Brian Brooks the Comptroller of the Currency a senior banking post in the government has some good news to share with the crypto community. He shared the announcement of favorable regulations related to Bitcoin in a CNBC interview.
The CEO of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong, demanded clarity on the nature of regulations concerning Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies.
Armstrong and many others would be happy at Brook's statement that the government of the US has no plans to suspend or ban cryptocurrency. He also stated that new regulations would not harm any interests of cryptocurrency.
There are 3 things which future regulations going to look at:
First will be preventing Anti-Social Activities. Brooks stated that the government would propose regulations to eliminate such activities.
The second regulation would be how and when banks will tap directly into the Blockchain network for processing payments in Bitcoin. It will give more transparency and faster payments.
Looking at the third regulation, Brooks states that it will bring safety to bitcoin investors. By this banks will act as crypto custodians and will offer services.
When asked when the new regulations will be applied Brooks said that the administration is working on the same at the moment and would mostly be announced before President Trump ends his Presidency. So, the community can expect new regulations in January.
