Trump-Linked Accounts Reinvest in MSTR as Bitcoin Holdings Surge
Investment accounts connected to former President Donald Trump have recently made notable transactions involving MicroStrategy (Nasdaq: MSTR), the largest publicly traded corporate holder of bitcoin. After initially offloading shares, these accounts reversed course and repurchased them in July, resulting in impressive gains.
On July 24, Trump’s accounts reported a purchase of MSTR shares valued between $1,001 and $15,000. Just three days later, they made a more substantial investment in the $50,001 to $100,000 range. By September 22, MSTR shares had soared to $167.33, marking an approximate 80% increase from the July purchase price.
As of September 21, MSTR holds approximately 846,000 BTC, highlighting the volatility and potential of bitcoin within corporate investment strategies. The sequence of trades, revealed in federal financial disclosures, shows a shift from selling to buying as MSTR's stock price rebounded alongside bitcoin's recovery.
The transactions have drawn attention due to their timing and scale, with a total of 1,156 trades reported in July alone. While the filings confirm Trump as the beneficiary of these accounts, they do not clarify who directed the trades, leaving room for speculation about the involvement of external financial managers.
