Stand With Crypto Endorses Bipartisan Candidates Following CLARITY Act Setback in US Midterms
In a strategic response to the recent failure of the Senate to pass the CLARITY Act, Stand With Crypto (SWC) has announced its endorsement of a diverse group of candidates for the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. This initiative aims to bolster pro-crypto representation in Congress.
Backed by Coinbase, SWC is supporting over 30 bipartisan candidates, including Republican Sen. Jon Husted of Ohio, who is challenging crypto skeptic Sherrod Brown. Other notable endorsements include Republican Ashley Hinson from Iowa and Democrat Chris Pappas from New Hampshire.
SWC's endorsements are based on candidates' previous votes supporting crucial digital asset legislation. The organization plans to allocate funds for advertisements in six key House races, highlighting its commitment to promoting pro-crypto champions.
Mason Lynaugh, executive director of SWC, stated, “Following the Senate’s recent failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, our focus is on ensuring pro-crypto advocates are elected to carry forward our mission for clear regulatory frameworks.”
The CLARITY Act, which aimed to establish a comprehensive crypto market structure, fell short in the Senate with a 49-50 vote. Despite this setback, SWC remains determined to influence the midterm elections and support candidates who prioritize digital asset innovation.
