Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin Stash Grows to 1.17 Million BTC, Remains Largely Untouched
Recent analysis from Bitquery Research has revealed a significant increase in the estimated Bitcoin stash of Satoshi Nakamoto, the enigmatic creator of Bitcoin. The report indicates that Satoshi's holdings now total approximately 1.17 million BTC, valued at nearly $100 billion.
Despite some dormant bitcoins from 2010 being moved recently, the analysis shows that 99.86% of Satoshi's mined coins remain untouched. This finding underscores the enduring mystery surrounding Satoshi's identity and intentions.
Bitquery's researchers meticulously reconstructed the Patoshi pattern, a method used to estimate the amount of Bitcoin mined by Satoshi. Their findings suggest that, even after 17 years, the vast majority of Satoshi's bitcoins have not changed hands.
The report highlights that only a small fraction of Satoshi-era bitcoins have ever moved, with the last significant movement occurring in December 2017. This reinforces the notion that Satoshi's coins are likely to remain dormant for the foreseeable future.
