Ripple Accuses Youtube Of Allowing XRP Giveaway Scams
Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse has filed a lawsuit against the giant video streaming platform YouTube for neglecting XRP giveaway scams that defraud consumers.
YouTube has many trending XRP giveaway scams that landed the platform in court. The platform has failed to take action against these scams and as a result Ripple, the company behind XRP, sued Youtube. As per the Ripple, no action has been taken despite many requests.
Ripple is the platform that shares cryptocurrency trading top losers along with cryptocurrency live graphs. Ripple demands that Youtube should stop gaining profits generated from scam videos. This lawsuit will surely see a clash between video streaming giant YouTube and global crypto payments platform Ripple.
The lawsuit was filed by the CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse in a Northern California federal district court. The lawsuit states that Youtube is running XRP giveaway scams and it has failed to remove it. Ripple also claims that even Youtube verified accounts are running the scam ads.
Ripple writes in his blog:We see a dire need—now, more than ever—to protect consumers around the world from dangerous online giveaway scams and false impersonations across YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and more.
Currently, there is no response from YouTube regarding the accusations but federal court document files state that the video streaming platforms have ‘suffered unrepairable harm.’ As per the court documents, the crypto firm has been scammed ‘millions of XRP’ equivalent to hundreds of thousands of USD.
