Opera’s Version 53 Beta Will Now Support Bitcoin And Tron

Opera has added support for blockchain-based tokens to the crypto wallet for its Android version 53 beta. The tokens that Opera supports include Bitcoin (BTC) and Tron (TRX). Opera revealed this latest update in an official blog post on July 10. In its post, Opera added that users can now send and receive BTC, TRX, and TRC-10 standard tokens. Also, the webpages can request and receive addresses for users to complete transactions with BTC. Opera denotes this second functionality as “an experimental integration of Web 3”. It is a term that refers to the ambition to develop a semantic internet and mostly used to refer the evolution of a more intelligent, open and distributed web, involving the use of blockchain, decentralized computing, and cryptocurrencies. Opera’s blog post suggests that bringing bitcoin support to Web 3.0 will encourage the asset to be used not only for speculation and the storage of value but for payments. Opera is already supporting Ether (ETH) and (ERC) standard tokens. In the month of May, Opera has launched TRX and TRC standard token support for its built-in crypto wallet. Opera has brought multiple developments for Web 3.0 wallet and decentralized application (Dapps) interactions for its suite of browsers. Opera is continuing its development process for the future blockchain applications and has come in the partnership with blockchain advisory and financial services firm Ledger Capital. In the race of blockchain-powered smartphone sphere, the players are electronics supplier Sirin Labs which launched its first blockchain-based smartphone last winter, offering a cold-storage crypto wallet and support for encrypted communications. Another giant HTC also brought its in-wallet cryptocurrency trading for users of its blockchain-powered Exodus1 smartphone as well as its Exodus 1S smartphone with Bitcoin full node capability. Following the same path, Samsung has also released its blockchain and DApp Software Development Kit in smartphone Galaxy S10.
