Novig Reports 94% Surge in Trading Volume Following Sydney Sweeney's Ad Campaign
Novig, a platform focused on sports prediction markets, has announced a remarkable 94% increase in trading volume following the release of its ad featuring actress Sydney Sweeney. This surge occurred during a pivotal time, as it coincided with the kickoff of the NFL season.
According to co-founder Jacob Fortinsky, the campaign, launched on September 9, also led to a staggering 218% rise in first-time depositors and a 187% increase in app downloads. These figures highlight the campaign's effectiveness in attracting new users to the platform.
In September alone, Novig experienced a 96% month-over-month increase in active users and a 260% year-over-year growth. Fortinsky expressed surprise at the level of engagement generated by the ad and the NFL's start.
Before transitioning to a federally regulated prediction market on August 4, Novig operated a sweepstakes product using virtual currencies. The recent ad campaign, which has drawn both attention and criticism, features Sweeney in a provocative setting, emphasizing the platform's focus on sports without political or violent betting.
Despite facing some backlash from female athletes regarding the ad's portrayal of women in sports, Fortinsky defended the campaign, stating that the company is proud of its work and respects differing opinions.
Recent data from Aldrin Research corroborates Novig's growth, showing a 136% increase in sports volume, which helped the company capture a larger share of the overall market, now valued at $68.2 billion.
Additionally, Novig's valuation has soared to $2 billion following a new funding round, a significant jump from its previous valuation of $500 million earlier this year. The company continues to seek further investment to support its expansion.
