New US President Joe Biden May Overturn Trump’s Anti Crypto Actions
Just a few days left in Trump stepping back from the Oval Office, Joe Biden has also started receiving advice on crypto regulations.
Maxine Waters, the chairwoman of the United States House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services writes a letter to Joe Biden where she advised him to reverse the actions of the incumbent. The letter points out the issues related to digital assets operation in the country and also other important societal issues that could affect the general population.
The chairwoman wants the new president to revoke President Trump’s regulations that alter how social protection works. Along with crypto regulations, she also advised the new president to consider issues such as consumer production, housing stability, and the lending practices of financial institutions in the country.
Further, she added that the new president should look after the improvement of regulations and law that covers the pandemic. Previously, Waters had stated that she is not a fan of the current crypto scenario due to which she is calling on the new administration to reverse decisions she believes would fit how the industry should work.
If Joe Biden takes her advice, there would be changes in the works of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
