Michael Saylor Teases Potential Bitcoin Purchases with 'We’re ₿ack' Message
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy Inc., has reignited interest in the company's Bitcoin strategy with a cryptic message on social media. His post, featuring the phrase 'We’re ₿ack,' has led to speculation about the company's next moves regarding Bitcoin acquisitions.
Currently, Strategy holds 840,447 BTC, valued at approximately $65.72 billion. This comes after a two-week pause in transactions, during which the company accumulated significant cash reserves totaling $1.59 billion.
Saylor's message was shared on August 30, following a period of no Bitcoin purchases or sales from August 17 to August 23. The timing coincides with a notable recovery in Bitcoin's price, which surged from around $65,000 to approximately $81,000 within a week.
The company’s recent SEC filing revealed that its Bitcoin holdings were acquired for an average price of $75,385 per Bitcoin, including fees. Investors are now keenly awaiting further disclosures to see if Saylor's message indicates a renewed purchasing strategy.
With $6.69 billion in dollar liquidity, including $1.59 billion in cash, the potential for Strategy to resume Bitcoin acquisitions is high. The company has previously pioneered the model of holding Bitcoin as a corporate treasury asset, making it the largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder.
Saylor has also been vocal about Bitcoin's transformative role in global finance, advocating for broader access and institutional adoption. His recent comments suggest a shift in focus from Bitcoin as merely a currency to its potential as a form of digital capital.
