Loyal Ethereum Holders To Get OMG Token In Coinbase Airdrop
Coinbase is a US-based cryptocurrency exchange that shares cryptocurrency live prices. The exchange has conducted airdrop for Ethereum holders.
The airdrop is especially for Ethereum or ETH holders who have an account on Coinbase exchange at least since July 7, 2017. The users of Coinbase that have ETH in their accounts will be receiving OMG coin/s at least for the last three years.
OmiseGo (OMG) is an Ethereum token that is less popular and the fuel behind OmiseGo smart contract platform which allows businesses today with more financial independence.
The main purpose is to facilitate the movement of funds between different payment systems seamlessly and securely. It eliminates the need to rely on conventional banking services and offers a platform inclusive of the unbanked population of the world.
Back in 2017, this decentralized Ethereum blockchain-based dApp had conducted an airdrop of OMG coin. In those days, Coinbase did not back the integration of the token and as a result, the ETH holders on Coinbase were not eligible for the airdrop at the time.
The exchange announced the support for the OMG coin on its platform on 25th May. The token had little to no presence in the cryptocurrency market but still, the token witnessed a massive in demand, and its price hiked by as much as 230 percent in just 24 hours following the announcement.
One of the Twitter users named Jordan Spence shared a screenshot of an email received from Coinbase exchange today. The email states that if you are among the ETH holders since the date of the original airdrop conducted in 2017, you will receive OMG coin/s in the account directly.
It also highlights that ETH holders will be rewarded with equivalent OMG coins and will not be required to take any action.
