The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised alarms regarding the burgeoning $65 billion tokenization market, emphasizing potential threats to financial stability. As of July 31, 2026, tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) reached approximately $65.1 billion, with tokenized credit accounting for $30.4 billion and money market funds contributing another $17.5 billion. According to the IMF, the elimination of delays inherent in traditional financial systems may lead to accelerated forced liquidations during market turmoil.
