Governor Of CBI States: Crypto Mining To Be Allowed In Iran

On July 10, the governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) announced that Iranian authorities are planning to authorize cryptocurrency mining. Abdol Hemmati is a governor of CBI and he said that the government of Iran has approved the executive law and according to which mining of cryptocurrencies will authorize such as Bitcoin in Iran. Hemmati explained the new law for crypto mining would have to accept the price of electricity for export and the miners wouldn't be allowed to use the heavily subsidized internal energy grid. The price that Iran charges to export power to neighboring countries is 40% to 100% higher than it provides internally. After this news, it gave rise to another announcement that says, Iranian authorities are planning to cut down power for crypto mining as there is an abnormal increase in electricity consumption and that led to the increased rates of the crypto mining in the country. The Iranian government has seized around 1,000 units of Bitcoin mining hardware units from two mining operations. The deputy governor at CBI for new technologies said that buying and selling crypto is illegal in Iran, referring to local anti-money laundering rules. In the following days, we have to see what turn will Crypto mining take place? Whether Iranian authorities will allow crypto mining or not?
