CoinDCX Survey Reports Difficulty Of Indian Investors To Enter Crypto
Many Indian investors still don’t see any simplest way to enter into the crypto market despite recent regulatory liberalization regarding cryptocurrencies.
CoinDCX, an Indian crypto exchange conducted a survey where they stated that investors don’t see an “easy way” to access exposure to crypto-assets. The situation didn’t change despite the country removing the ban on financial institutions providing services to digital asset businesses earlier this year.
The Indian population also blames a lack of “legal & regulatory clarity” is the biggest barrier while entering the crypto market.
The respondents aged from 20 to 30 and the graduates stated that “knowledge & education” regarding crypto as the biggest challenge to its adoption. Around 11,300 participants were surveyed which includes 3,512 of its own customers.
As per the report, 40% of India’s crypto investors are from IT, finance, or education. 12% of participants are working in the banking industry and stated they have owned crypto assets. The rest 22% do agree that virtual currencies are a strong alternative investment that leads the country's growth.
The survey reported that two-thirds of crypto investors are salaried, while 12% are self-employed, and just 8% are students.
There are less than 5% of survey respondents who are retired, unemployed, or homemakers to write off crypto entirely as they consider cryptocurrencies offer “zero utility.”
