Ceffu Withdraws $263.8 Million in Bitcoin and Ethereum from Binance Amid Market Rally
In a notable move, Ceffu, the institutional custody partner for Binance, executed a significant withdrawal of $263.8 million in Bitcoin and Ethereum on August 24. This transaction occurred shortly after a deposit of 136.54 million USDC onto the exchange.
During a rapid 30-minute window, Ceffu withdrew 1,524 BTC, valued at approximately $117.89 million, and 59,484 ETH, worth around $145.92 million. This activity has drawn the attention of analysts, especially as Bitcoin's price remains robust above $77,000.
Ceffu, which was rebranded from Binance Custody, provides large investors with secure cold storage and settlement services. This recent withdrawal is not an isolated incident; a similar pattern was observed in July when Ceffu transferred 3,000 BTC, valued at about $192 million, from Binance.
The timing of this withdrawal coincides with Bitcoin's strongest weekly performance since March 2023, where the asset surged approximately 22%. This rally followed announcements from U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent regarding increased bond buybacks, which have rejuvenated interest in risk assets.
