Bitcoin Mining Revenue Surges in September Amid Minimal Difficulty Adjustment

In a remarkable turn of events, Bitcoin miners reported a substantial revenue increase in September, totaling $1.12 billion. This figure represents the highest earnings for miners since January, just shy of the $1.15 billion recorded that month.

The blockchain's mining difficulty saw a negligible adjustment of only 0.03%, bringing the current level to 132.72 trillion. This slight change is the smallest of the year, indicating a stable environment for miners as they continue to navigate the market.

Throughout September, the hashprice remained consistently around $40 per petahash, contributing to improved profit margins for miners. The hashprice, which reflects the daily output value generated by 1 petahash per second, peaked at $41.51 and dipped to a low of $37.45 during the month.

Despite the modest difficulty adjustment, the overall trend for 2026 has been favorable for miners, with 11 reductions in difficulty compared to just eight increases. This net decline of 11.96% since the start of the year has provided miners with much-needed breathing room.

As we move into the final months of the year, the sustainability of this revenue surge remains uncertain. However, the recent uptick in Bitcoin's price and the steady hashprice suggest that miners may continue to enjoy favorable conditions in the near future.
