8.5 Million XRP Are Lost In Crypto Scam And Frauds
The new report from XRP aggregator, Xplorer reveals that the XRP organization was responsible for the loss of 9 million tokens to addresses that are linked with giveaway scams. This report was published on Twitter.
The website states that stolen funds were all distributed to major cryptocurrency exchanges and Binance with the highest numbers of the transfer. In the second position comes HitBTC that follows ChangeNOW in the third position. Many officials have asked to strict the rules which could minimize the problems.
The website of xplorer.com tweeted:
“According to our data, XRP accounts associated with these “giveaway” scams are in possession of at least ~5.9M XRP with many funds laundered every day through exchanges and swap services.”
There is a huge chance that XRP investors could be fooled over giveaways and airdrops. Initially, the Xplorer website was created as ‘XRP Forensics’ and looks after how the community could fight against fraudulent activity on the XRP ledger.
The website is also creating tools for the victims and to prevent others from making the same mistake. The platform claims that time plays an important role in catching criminals. Due to slow investigations processes led the criminals' way to take away stolen capital and vanish.
Usually, XRP scams take place on social media platforms like Twitter and YouTube. Recently, many videos were uploaded on YouTube where 50 million XRP tokens were promised but they all were scammed. However, the users who fall for this scam sent the money to a given address that promised high returns.
