Decentraland To Launch World’s First Metaverse ATM
Decentraland, a popular Metaverse platform, is all set to launch the world’s first metaverse ATM. It's a virtual reality platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Decentraland allows users to create, experience, and monetize their content and applications.
Decentraland has partnered with Transak payment gateway and Metaverse Architects studio to let users quickly purchase MANA or any other cryptocurrency. MANA is a native cryptocurrency of Decentraland, and it is used as an in-game currency. Through MANA Users can buy and sell items within the game.
According to the developers' team, the ATM intends to ease the user experience. The developers said in a post, “Just like an ATM in real life, we wanted to give users a more seamless journey while navigating web3.” More details regarding the ATM will be available at a public conference today.
Many banks are also entering the Metaverse. At the beginning of 2022, J.P. Morgan launched its first metaverse lounge on Decentraland. Additionally, the world’s leading bank HSBC and virtual gaming platform, The Sandbox, further announced a partnership.
According to a new report by DappRadar, despite the crypto market crash, metaverse and blockchain games have spiked by 9.51% in the second quarter of 2022.
Currently, the total number of parcels in Decentraland is 90,000. Only developers can own the common spaces, plazas, and roads, and they cannot be bought or sold by users. This scarcity drives the value of land in Decentraland.
