Who Will Win The Race? MANA OR SAND
The Crypto sector has undoubtedly taken the globe by storm, attracting major investors like Binance, SoftBank, Adidas, Kenetic Capital, FBG Capital, CoinFund, and a slew of others. Without a doubt, the COVID-19 outbreak exposed the world to its virtual side. If that wasn’t enough, Facebook's name change to Meta in 2021 drew attention and made the term ‘Metaverse’ a debatable matter. Amid these arguments and discussions, members of the Crypto and Blockchain industries began working to make it a reality.
Inevitably, your digital persona will become a part of a Metaverse. Which of the two has a higher chance of drawing you in you may ask? The Sandbox and Decentraland are two of the most promising challengers, with a lot to offer both players and investors. With 3.2 billion gamers on the globe spending an average of $100-200 a year on gaming, it's only natural that these Metaverse businesses compete for a piece of the pie. So, which of these two has sparked your attention the most? Any Metaverse professional can tell you which Metaverse currencies are the greatest at the moment on the market. Decentralized and the Sandbox, would be the answer. After all, why not? Following the Facebook name change event, both platforms saw a sharp increase in their growth charts. Is it true that both Metaverse coins are the same? NO is the answer.
What’s the difference between Decentraland and The Sandbox?
Decentraland contains 90,601 land parcels. These parcels of land can be grouped into individual parcels, estates (multiple parcels), districts (parcels with similar themes) and plazas (untradable community-owned parcels). Furthermore, Decentraland has three types of tokens: MANA, WEAR, and LAND. The Sandbox features 166,464 properties that may be grouped into estates (owned by an individual) or districts (owned by many individuals). The Sandbox has four types of Tokens: SAND, ASSETS, GAMES and LAND.
One of the most significant differences between the two platforms is their age. The older of the two, Decentraland, was the forerunner of the 3D Blockchain Metaverse. It was the first to produce a functional proof of concept, and it now has a publicly available game. Whereas, only an Alpha version of the Sandbox is available to the general public. A DAO currently runs Decentraland, but the Sandbox is not. It's worth noting that the Sandbox appears to have a more clear and defined future strategy than its competitor Decentraland. This might be an advantage of being governed by a centralized authority with game industry knowledge rather than a DAO. In addition, the visuals in the Sandbox are currently superior to those in Decentraland. Users must, however, download a Windows app to access the Sandbox. Decentraland also enables peer-to-peer communication without needing a centralized server.
How do they work?
In reality, they both share the same concept: users may explore the virtual environment and interact with other players and items. For example, users may buy virtual land in the Sandbox and Decentraland Metaverse and use it to construct their own universe. Users may, in other words, develop, enjoy, and monetize their own content and apps. However, you must first acquire land to place your content and monetize it. There's also a marketplace where you can sell these contents or assets for the platform's own currency. Another thing that The Sandbox and Decentraland have in common is that they're both built on the Ethereum network. Thus, the land/property on the Ethereum Blockchain is represented and stored as NFT.
Who is backing them?
The Sandbox has teamed up with Skybound Entertainment which is the enterprise behind The Walking Dead Show, Big Fan (esports project), Ubisoft, and even Snoop Dogg. They recently just received $93 million in capital from SoftBank, one of the world's largest investment companies. Whereas, Decentraland has over 20 investors, including Digital Currency Group, CoinFund, Animoca Brands, and even the South Korean (SK) government. Grayscale has also developed a Decentraland trust with over 20 million MANA tokens locked up in it.
What’s their current price?
How can we determine where their prices are going now since we know enough about both environments and how they want to grow forward? Last year the SAND coin was trading for $4.87 on CoinMarketCap. According to WalletInvest, the price of SAND will be about $8.33 in a year and $21.17 in a five-year estimate. Whereas, the MANA token was trading at $3.29 on CoinMarketCap. WalletInvest predicts that the price of MANA will be about $12.91 in five years.
Where to Purchase SAND and MANA Tokens?
Both Decentraland and The Sandbox rely heavily on Cryptocurrency. They are the source of energy for these Metaverse economies. Visitors in this Metaverse can use their Cryptos to buy different things, services, or experiences. These products may include virtual land, wearables, and one-of-a-kind names. Purchasing experiences might include purchasing tickets to a live performance, paying entrance to an art gallery, taking a hot-air balloon ride, or even gambling at a casino. You can also trade goods in Decentraland’s Bartertown, buy digital art, or attend Decentraland University. All of these activities necessitate the use of Cryptocurrency. MANA may be purchased simply through centralized exchanges such as Coinbase, eToro, and Gemini. If you want to buy SAND, Gemini is the ideal location to do so. This is due to the fact that SAND is not presently accessible for purchase through Coinbase. You may also buy MANA and SAND on a variety of prominent decentralized exchanges. The MANA token and the SAND token are both Ethereum ERC-20 tokens. You can simply trade these tokens for ETH or other popular ERC-20 tokens on decentralized exchanges. Uniswap, Metamask Swap, and Sushiswap are three prominent decentralized exchanges for these tokens.
Which Metaverse is the Best?
For the time being, it appears like The Sandbox has emerged as the champion in the battle between The Sandbox and Decentraland because it is supported by more partnerships, investors, and developers than Decentraland. Furthermore, The Sandbox is more creative and has a stronger future strategy than Decentraland. Moreover, the Crypto forecast indicates that the Sandbox's token value would climb dramatically faster than Decentraland's. If this occurs, The Sandbox will find it easy to persuade individuals to invest in them. However, for the time being, the market appears to favour The Sandbox over Decentraland. Therefore, we recommend you do your own research and make an informed decision.
