A new WhatsApp phishing scam is targeting Singaporeans. Scammers send fake links to WhatsApp Web login pages. When victims click on the links and enter their login credentials, they are giving scammers access to their WhatsApp accounts. Scammers can then use victims' accounts to send messages to their contacts asking for money or personal information. They may also use the accounts to spread malware or disinformation. The Singapore Police Force has advised people to be careful when clicking on links in WhatsApp messages and to verify the URL of any WhatsApp Web login page before entering their login credentials. They also advised people to enable two-factor authentication for their WhatsApp accounts.
