Hackers are reportedly focusing their attention on verified accounts on X (formerly Twitter). These accounts, associated with government and business profiles, bear gold and grey verification badge. And the objective behind this attention is to hijack these accounts to promote cryptocurrency scams, phishing sites, and platforms with crypto drain features, as observed by Bleeping Computer. As per a recent CloudSEK report, a novel black market has surfaced, wherein hackers trade compromised X accounts with gold and grey badges for prices ranging from $1,200 to $2,000.
