Regulations in Iran for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are quite strict and from the past three months, the government is also turning against cryptocurrencies. Miners have had their mining equipment sealed or taken away along with the proposals of heavy fines, while some may even be jailed. According to the local miners the government may have taken away up to eighty thousand (80,000) mining tools in the previous four months. Iranian authorities have started to close down mining farms in certain areas of the country and imposing fines on the “smuggled” mining devices.
