Last week, the entire transaction volume of Axie Infinity, a Pokémon-inspired monster-battling game, topped $2 billion. The game's native AXS governance coin has also seen a significant increase in value, with a market capitalization approaching $4 billion. To play Axie Infinity, you'll need three giant NFTs, each of which costs roughly $150-200 in ETH. Axie's summer increase coincided with the announcement of a $7.5 million Series A funding round in May.
