Worldcoin, a cryptocurrency that was being promoted by OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman, dropped by double digits after news broke that Altman had been removed from his position. The price of Worldcoin (WLD) fell from a high of $2.50 to under $1.90 in a matter of hours after the news was announced. The project's coin had already been controversial, and the leadership change seemed to spook investors. Altman was removed from his position after the OpenAI board of directors concluded that he was not "consistently candid in his communications." The board also said that it was concerned about the lack of progress on some of OpenAI's projects.
