According to the CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse, facebook will face challenges while launching libra as they had let the public down. He says that the world is based on trust and in the case of Facebook it has already let down the people and it can be seen in the challenges that the company is facing from regulators. Facebook decision to launch its cryptocurrency project faced criticism from the government all around the world. Garlinghouse said that the timing of the announcement was not right and even Facebook underestimated the reaction of authorities.
