Rapper Soulja Boy has publicly responded after being exposed for promoting numerous cryptocurrency and NFT projects that later collapsed or were labeled scams by blockchain investigators. In a statement on X, he apologised, saying he didn’t fully understand the crypto space at the time and claimed ignorance of the fraudulent nature of the ventures he promoted, some linked to a promoter named Sahil. The investigation highlighted at least 73 promotional campaigns and 16 NFT launches from 2021–2023 many of which failed shortly after his endorsements. His apology has generated renewed industry scrutiny and criticism, with some observers dismissing his defence amid ongoing debates about celebrity crypto endorsements.
