Save the Children has launched a dedicated Bitcoin Fund to hold and manage Bitcoin donations for up to four years, aiming to improve the speed, cost and transparency of humanitarian aid delivery by reducing reliance on slow traditional banking channels. The fund, developed with digital-asset firm Fortris, will also explore using Bitcoin, stablecoins and digital wallets to get cash assistance directly to families during crises. Save the Children has accepted crypto since 2013, and this initiative reflects growing interest among aid groups in faster, blockchain-enabled payments.
