Keonne Rodriguez and William Lonergan Hill, co-founders of Samourai Wallet, have agreed to plead guilty in a U.S. federal case accusing them of laundering over $100 million through crypto-mixing services Whirlpool and Ricochet. Prosecutors allege the platform processed over $2 billion in illicit transactions. The plea deal includes charges of unlicensed money transmission and conspiracy to commit money laundering, carrying potential sentences of up to 25 years. The change-of-plea hearing is scheduled for July 30, 2025, in New York. Authorities say the services were used to conceal criminal proceeds from darknet and hacking operations.
