Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, plans to testify in his own defense at his upcoming criminal fraud trial. Bankman-Fried is accused of misappropriating billions of dollars from FTX customers and using the money to fund his hedge fund Alameda Research, make speculative investments, and donate to political campaigns. Bankman-Fried's decision to testify is a risky one. He will face rigorous questioning from prosecutors, who have a wealth of evidence against him. However, Bankman-Fried may feel that he has no choice but to testify in order to try to persuade the jury that he is not guilty.
