The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has delayed its decision on Hashdex's proposed bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). The ETF was originally scheduled to launch on November 17, but the SEC has now extended its review period by 45 days. This is the second time that the SEC has delayed a decision on a bitcoin ETF. In September, the SEC delayed its decision on a proposed bitcoin ETF from Grayscale Investments. The SEC's delays have been met with frustration from the cryptocurrency industry. Many investors believe that the SEC is being overly cautious in approving bitcoin ETFs.
