Sam Bankman-Fried, a founder of the now-defunct crypto exchange, had borrowed over $546 million from the exchange’s sister firm Alameda Research to purchase Robinhood shares. Bankman-Fried later used these shares as collateral for a loan taken by Alameda from BlockFi, one of the entities laying claim to the shares.
