Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is maintaining a positive outlook for the U.S. cryptocurrency landscape, even after the recent failure of the CLARITY Act. The Senate's rejection of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act on September 15, 2026, has not dampened his belief in the future of crypto regulations.
Garlinghouse had been a vocal supporter of the legislation, which aimed to establish a clearer regulatory framework for digital assets. Following the vote, he expressed disappointment but quickly shifted focus to the ongoing rulemaking processes at the SEC and CFTC.
He stated, “There is still reason for optimism for crypto in the United States,” highlighting that both regulatory bodies will continue to work on rules that could fill the legislative void left by the failed act. This shift in focus is crucial as the U.S. digital asset market currently operates without a solid statutory framework.
Despite the setback, Garlinghouse reassured stakeholders that Ripple's business momentum remains robust. He noted, “Ripple’s business has never been stronger,” pointing to real demand from both traditional finance and the digital asset ecosystem.
Ripple is actively positioning its stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD), for broader institutional adoption while also proposing new lending protocols aimed at enhancing on-chain credit access through the XRP Ledger. These initiatives underscore Ripple's commitment to expanding its role in the evolving financial landscape.
