Ripple, a prominent cryptocurrency company, has partnered with Trinity College Dublin to establish the Ripple Blockchain Collaboratory, focusing on advancing research in blockchain, cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, and fintech. This collaboration, part of Ripple's University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), is supported by $200,000 in funding over two years. Led by Professor Hitesh Tewari from Trinity's School of Computer Science and Statistics, the initiative will engage faculty and graduate students in projects such as developing a decentralized social media network, exploring post-quantum cryptography, and implementing zero-knowledge proofs. Additionally, the ADAPT Research Ireland Centre at Trinity will manage an XRP Ledger (XRPL) validator, contributing to the network's security and decentralization.
