Polygon Labs has acquired Toposware, a zero-knowledge (ZK) engineering startup, to bolster its development of zero-knowledge technology. The integration of Toposware's expertise with Polygon's ongoing projects aims to advance the entire ZK community. This move comes after Polygon's development of the Type 1 ZKEVM prover earlier this year, marking a significant step forward in ZK proof technology. The collaboration between the two teams will enhance efforts on various fronts, including the AggLayer, Polygon CDK, and ZKEVM, with the goal of improving scalability and security across blockchain technologies. Toposware's contributions have already shown significant cost benefits, particularly in reducing transactional costs for proving blocks on Ethereum.
