Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal has been appointed CEO of the Polygon Foundation (including Polygon Labs) as part of a major restructuring announced June 11, 2025. The move consolidates leadership under Nailwal to streamline strategic decision-making and sharpen focus amid increasing competition in Ethereum Layer‑2 protocols. His elevation follows internal shifts, including previous focus on ZK-solutions and departure of other co-founders. As CEO, Nailwal is expected to drive key initiatives—such as aggressive expansion of zero-knowledge tools, ecosystem grants, and scaling efforts like zkEVM and AggLayer—while accelerating Polygon’s bid to remain a frontrunner in blockchain adoption and innovation.
