North Korean hacker group Lazarus is responsible for a $235 million theft from Indian crypto exchange WazirX, according to Cyfirma. The attack involved subgroups APT38 and Blue Noroff, targeting over 200 assets, including $96.7 million in Shiba Inu and $52.6 million in Ether. The stolen assets were laundered through decentralized services. Cyfirma highlights the use of spear-phishing, social engineering, and malware to compromise the exchange. The motive behind these attacks is to fund North Korea’s regime and evade international sanctions.
