A 46-year-old senior doctor from Mumbai lost Rs 1.1 crore to an online cryptocurrency trading scam. The doctor met a woman named Melissa Campbell online who claimed to be an expert in cryptocurrency trading. Campbell convinced the doctor to invest his money in cryptocurrencies based on her guidance. The doctor created a trading account and purchased various cryptocurrencies as instructed by Campbell. He also transferred his cryptocurrencies to another wallet address for more profit or trading, as instructed by Campbell. However, when the doctor tried to withdraw his money, he was told that he needed to pay taxes and commission.
