Mumbai and Hyderabad police have uncovered a significant cryptocurrency fraud involving COINZX, a platform accused of defrauding investors nationwide of approximately ₹200 crore. The scheme, led by managing director Ravi Mahaseth and his associates, lured individuals with promises of high returns on investments in their digital currency, COINZX, which was falsely projected to emulate Bitcoin's success. Investors were enticed through seminars and personal networks, often transacting in cash and accessing their purported investments via a bogus website. Operations ceased after a few months, with Mahaseth relocating to Dubai, leaving investors unable to retrieve their funds. Both Mumbai and Hyderabad authorities have registered cases, with arrests made and investigations ongoing to apprehend all involved parties.
