A new report of the U.S. authorities unveiled that North Korean hackers (Lazarus group) got access to users’ data and funds, which demanded a ransom payment afterwards. On the ransom note, hackers threatened Bithumb to "sell or destroy the customer’s virtual currency unless a certain amount is given”. They also shared malicious code through fake job applications to Bithumb employees.
